The game

Karo is a two-player, turn-based word game. By using it you accept these terms. The game is free; there are currently no in-app purchases.

Opponents

While looking for an opponent, if no player is available you may be matched with an AI-powered opponent. AI opponents follow the same game rules as human players: the same puzzle, the same scoring and the same time limits. In games started with a lobby code or an invite, you choose your opponent.

Your account

• You may play as a guest. A guest account is tied to that device: if you lose the device, progress cannot be recovered. Link your account to a sign-in provider to avoid this.
• You are responsible for your account's security. Do not share it.
• The number of accounts per device is limited — this is an abuse-prevention measure.

Conduct

The following are prohibited and may lead to suspension:

• Insults, profanity, hate speech or impersonation in your display name.
• Harassing other players.
• Automating play, sending automated requests to the server, or exploiting defects.
• Creating multiple accounts to manipulate rating or leaderboards.

You can block and report a player who bothers you. A blocked player will not be matched with you and their invites will not reach you.

Content

Puzzles and word lists are prepared by the operator. Licence information for dictionary sources is on the Licenses page (in the app: Settings → Licenses and credits). You may not claim rights over in-game puzzles or clues.

Interruption and change

The game is provided "as is". Service may be interrupted for maintenance, bug fixes or balance changes; game rules and scoring may change over time. Games already in progress are finished with the rule version they started with.

Closing an account

You can delete your account at any time from the app (Settings → Delete account). The operator may suspend an account that violates these terms.

Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the game.
